Where did I say that people need cars in my first comment? I never said specifically that people need to steal cars. People steal to satisfy some sort of need. You may call it bullshit all you want, but people steal for need, and in a lot of places nowadays, people need adaquate transportation. Plenty of people NEED cars. Just because you must live in a place where public trans is key or live in a place that uses carriages, doesn't mean that everybody else does. People were doing fine before cars because the society was built for their trans, not having a car right now is a terrible prospect to anybody who doesn't live in places like New York, LA, London, or DC. Does it look like that city had adaquate public trans? It is unfortunate, but people need things they don't have.
