Many people don't know it but George Carlin liked kids. He always supported a better education for our children and things such as neo-natal care. He had a daughter who he was very close to. He wanted honesty and compassion for one another in society and government. He wasn't just some bitter, old man. He was a speaker of the truth, things this country needed to hear.

yea i used to watch this too and always knew him as the conductor...nice and all...then i saw him as a comedian a few years ago and couldnt believe he was who he really is.. but hes goddamn funny and speaks truth in his stand ups.

Actually, George Carlin made a whole skit on comedy central, goofing off shining time station, about a couple of years ago. I thought it was pretty mean.

It's amazing. I used to watch this when I was REALLY young, and Mr. Conductor was my favourite character. Then I got older, my interest waned, and eventually I forgot about the show altogether. Then, a few years later, who appears on my TV but Mr Conductor himself, George Carlin. Back in Town, it was, and I got to see him in all his raging, foul-mouthed, stand-up glory. Carlin went from being one of my favourite characters to being my favourite comedian, and I didn't even realize it 'til later.
