It's a Rube Goldberg machine. That whole point is it to be a ridiculously complicated solution to a simple task.

some of these comments seem to misunderstand what a Rube Goldberg machine is all about. it's performing the most trivial task in the most complicated manner possible, as a challenge.now, whether it's a stroke of genius or insanity is up for debate, but it sure as hell is amazing to watch.
