Nice video, i never realized the 8600GTS was such a decent card- what resolution and settings were you ragin at? Also what program were you using to record? Couldnt be Fraps, that would slow this down to a crawl, unless you rendered the entire movie at 30FPS.

yea get sp2 and tweak the cfg file a little and you will run it nice. still not max everything, i spent almost 6 grand on a pc for fsx and couldnt run it max with over 20 fps. im still waiting for locking in at 200 fps with photo real everything. where you can literally crash into your house and get run over by a car in your street.

Wow, quite a discussion going on here :) FSX does give quite a bit of options to customize your display settings so you just need to pull back some of the sliders. But your right, FSX is a very intensive program. Only the top of the line computers are able to turn the settings up.

this game is beautiful but it needs too much memory to run well, i have 2gb of memories and it just enough to play the game with the graphics by default, you need at less 4gb to appreciate fsx really, especially in the big city like paris or nyc, ect...in fact you must have a big computer, it's the only game which make my pc suffer like this...i think they should give more option for the gamers to choose what they want display

Alright, they introduced some new techniques.. and everytime you do this, you might need to throw overboard some compatibility.....But, yes, theyt could have made a DX10 version for XP - they just wanted to sell Vista, and take XP out of the shops. Never seen an OS being so rigorously discontinued.. ;)DX10 is a nice piece of work, nevertheless.. :)

That's where Microsoft messed up. They lot a bunch of compatibility when they redid the whole thing. They could have released DX10 for everyone on all Windows operating systems, but no.
