closer is probably the most sad thing i ever heard in my life. Literrally you can hear the decent. Its easy to say now in hindsight that you could see it coming. But if you take the lyrics and see them in print. Its amazing. I never seen pain articulated so wonderfully. Maybe im talkin shit who knows. Also im sorry to say to some NME writers unknown pleasures doesnt compare to closer. Even listening to joy divisions ceremony makes you realised they would of headed for greatness even if ian lived

they just dont make music like this anymore...not a lot of people except the true fans on here posting know about New Order, after all you guys are the ones still watching their videos 20+ years later...these guys are LEGENDS and belong in the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame

fniccoli, we can compare NO to JD if we want to. Your opinion on the two bands is subjective. I, like many others, feel that NO has made some masterpiece albums too, and JD and NO are both great. They are both great because NO is 3/4 of JD. Your opinion is your opinion and others are entitled to theirs too.
