During the season finale of the 1999 CART FedEx Championship at the California Speedway, Greg Moore spins off of turn 2 then flips in the grass and hits the inside wall hard and flips a few more times. My Capture.There's also an update on Greg's condition from Dr. Steve Olvey.And I also have the annoucement that Greg died of massive head injurys.RIP Greg.Paul Page and Parker Johnstone with the call.

no one hit him. he was running 4 a breats at the previous corner after the restart. there is an amazing picture of it somewhere on the net....he was on the outside and he brushed the wall with his rear tyre, over corrected the slide and just plainly lost it..

i dont know if its been youtubed or not but it was on the live eurosport coverage of the race back in 99. i was watching it and still have that race (and all 96-04 champ car races) on video in the attic.

Drivers used to race by while drivers burned to death at the edge of tracks. It was considered part of the racing. Because of safety we're now far more shocked than we used to be to see somebody die.
