go to the cyberseam website it teaches u everything about knitting: purl stitch, slip stich, how to increase and decrease and everything else u need to know about knitting like what the codes are and stuff.hope it'll help u! :)

what do u do after u wind the yarn around the right needle? where do u stick the right need in?

I know how to knit. It sounds like the gap is caused by missing stitches. I also went through the problem of the needles cant even move. It may be caused by being distracted, and you forget where you are in the stitch. Or, you just have to loosen up in your stitches.
