First, vintage open wheel Indy cars line up at the grid and take off. A bit later, spitting rainclouds send several cars back into the paddock. Finally, two drivers prepare for a friendly (if the crews' banter was any indication) post-race face-off on the track.I'd like to thank a very cool track official who let me this close to the action. Turned out he was from the Chicago suburb of Blue Island. It's a small, small world.
