Agreed. Shostakovich is another good example. Very aggressive in some of his symphonies but it's all thought out and has a reason.

Sorry to disagree, but you're too readily equating "aggressive" with "mindless". There is music that is as aggressive as it is intelligent, and is very, intelligent. Even Prokofiev himself, has written some very aggressive music.
