Because Mazda says they have the rights to MX5. A history lesson about Porsche releasing the new car in 1962 called the 901, Peugeot protested the new 901 because they had the rights to any car with three numbers with a zero in the middle, so Porsche changed the zero to a 1 to create the 911.

Even better, the V12 LMR engine made about 600hp with the required air intake restrictors. When they put the engine in this truck, they took them off. 700hp is fun...
