I grew up with a 1975 Westinghouse LA495P washer and a 1975 Westinghouse DE500P electric dryer...That was the best set ever made!

great machine for a great price. the only bad thing i can say about this machine is it has the plastic tub which is prone to cracking.

A classic Westy ramped agitator would be awesome, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards. The auger isn't as effective with the slower-stroke agitation, either. I think a classic ramped agi would be the great in this washer.

When I first saw these at Lowe's, I thought the combination of the two would make for better turnover. But the indexing appears to be almost too great...seems to counteract the corkscrew's pulling action which compromises turnover. What they REALLY need is a ramp agitator! Viva la Westinghouse!

For that water level, yes, it's a BobLoad. I've since rigged it to fill to the top of the tub, so the capacity is increased substantially. At the reduced water level, it was easier to see the indexing. (For the uninitiated: A BobLoad denotes a load at a machine's maximum capacity.)

does that qualify as a *BobLoad*?

hoe come both the agitator and the tub move during agitation? its just weird on this type of washer |
