I'm so happy Block is around. He reminds me so much of Rothbard.

exactly. in 70s or 80s Polish founder of libertarian-conservative association said: "the socialism is the system in which government bravely fight with problems which aren't known in any other systems"

Government, selling you solutions to the problems they create.

Walter Block has worked for decades deep in the bowels of the libertarian movement. He's as knowledgeable as anyone on the issues.

libertarians and free market supporters really need to stress these types of arguments given how big an issue the environment is (both in a real and political sense).

Google "CASSE" to learn how we must change our economic systems.

To me that is just as much worthy of discussion as, "you are you to say murder is wrong. What if I want to murder someone."Environmentalism is an absolute right or wrong to a large extent. The Native Americans thing so, most native cultures think so, if you believe in God, then the Bible says so. In those eyes, it is just as moral as murder.Go ahead and respond via message so I can repsond later.

You aren't following. The point wasn't regulation of water. The point was THE IMAGE OF DIRTY YOU KEEP USING ON THE CAMPUS. :)You keep altering things with this image of dirty that you think makes sense, BUT IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY INITAL MATTER. You just change the issue, and I don't have time for this. Must scoot.
passerby23 (April 21, 2008 at 3:31 am)
My point is it might be an issue of "real importance" to you that requires big government, but what if it wasn't to me? What if I said we need big government to fight drug dealers and not for the environment? Who's right? How do we decide? What you will end up with is big government for everything or nothing. And it also forces people to pay taxes for something they may or may not support. Doesn't that strike you as an immoral problem?

I was winding the conversation down. I cannot do this anymore tonight. Message me your solutions and questions. I'd rather you message me than post. I hate speaking in less than 500 characters. It doesn't mater what you call it. I grew up with a historian for a father that specializes in early American History, i.e. the Constitution. He nor I think the Constitution is a libertarians Bible. :) |
