On the 15th October 1997 Thrust SSC became the first car to ever break the sound barrier. Piloted by Wing Commander Andy Green of the RAF, a top speed of 763.035mph over the flying mile was achieved.I've uploaded five videos, one on-board and four external (but unfortunately sound-free) videos that I found on the back end of a BBC website.
