Cougars are my favorite small cat. Yes they belong to the small cat family. A grizzly can easly kill any cat one on one.

Siberian tigers of the Russian Far East will hunt on brown bears, which make up 7 percent of its diet. By the way, tigers too can kill large mammals with one swipe of the paw!

cougars are NOT like lions. lions hunt in groups. cougars hunt ALONE just like tigers. also if a huge grizzly bear went one on one against a lion or tiger, it would destroy it. a grizzly can take down a large bison with one swipe of his paw.

Hyenas compete with lions constantly... What are you talking about? Durr...Also, Cougars will eat ground dwelling mammals like marmots, beavers and the like when they find them.

LOL! I think a Cougar would need to eat more due how Africa is the most populated when it comes to animals.There are much more animals for a lion to eat. Zebras, Gazelle, Wildebeest, Water Buffalo, etc, etc.For a Cougar... hmm. Deer, Elk, Rabbit, not very much.While Wolves chase off a Cougar for it's catch, and while food is scarce in North America, Hyenas won't interfere with a pride of Lions...

A stretch? It was freaking perfect! An average gorilla is about the same weight as an average tiger and same with a cougar and a man, and the analogy is made even more perfect by the relative genetic relations among the 4. Go look up those animals and pay particular attention to their weight ranges. 250 pounds would be ENORMOUS for a male cougar and tiny for a tigress. The fact of the matter is that lions and tigers eat 8-10 pounds of meat a day to stay healthy, a cougar eats more like 3.
