Nowhere in my post did I ever say I was an automotive expert. I'm sure there are plenty of reasons one way or another why one is better than the other. I find it funny that my post angered you enough to call me a dipshit. It's just a friendly argument. I know HP is just a calculation of torque and there are plenty of other things to factor in with regard to performance, power to weight ratio, balance, power delivery, handling, etc. Im obv no expert, but I do know the M3 would destroy the S5.

you can't compare the S5 and the M3. Yeah they're both V8's (BMW = 4.0L, Audi = 4.2L), but the BMW's v8 pulls in 414 bhp wheres the S5 will have around 350 bhp. I am a huge Audi fan, but the BMW would definately win between the two. The S5 is around the same level of performance as the BMW 335i. The RS5 when it comes out, will likely be aimed at the e92 M3.
