When tested on a firing range Dragonskin is very effective. When put in the field it falls apart. Contractors in Iraq complained of its flimsiness since areas around the body that bend like around the armpits and stomach sides caused discs to break off. This caused gaps in the armor. When the Army tested 30 Dragonskin armors in various environments it failed the heat, oil, and chemical tests which caused some of them to fall apart as well. +1The stuff in shown in Future Weapons is usually in the test phase. Mostly its a showcase to entertain people who have no clue about weapons. Much of the stuff shown never makes it into combat.
