Ive found that a program is not necessarily "better" because it costs more or has more indepth tools for a particular field. At the end of the day, the tool that is easiest to use and produces the results you require, thus saving the most time is the best.Having used Pro/D, Pro/E, and Solidworks I have to say that by far Solidworks will win the "production time" race every time.

Except for CATIA, which actually works.

Qualtiy drafting programs arent cheap. I use Solidworks 2007 at my current job, but Pro Engineer is the best. SW is the best bang for the buck, and easiest to use all around. Solidworks has more Add-ons then any other 3D drafting program. The only program that is more used than Solidworks is AUTOCAD.

I use the software, But if you compare it to some other ones its not expensive not to mention the friendly way to do things with it.
