Been looking at these bikes. I find them very comfortable. I think I'll probably make the purchase in the next month or so. I've been riding Suzuki bikes until now, grew out of my supersport phase. I love the distinctive look and the practical powerband. What good is ultra-high top end on the street? Give me low down pull any day.

i agree. i dont have a lightning, i have a buell blast. i ride with a bunch of zx-6r's and other "big 4" bikes. every time we stop and chat somewhere everyone walks past all the other bikes to ask me questions about mine. true buells dont go 200mph but its kinda cool when a 35hp 500cc bikes leads the pack through town cause nothing else can corner like a buell.

Hi, at 70-80 mph what are your RPM's usually at?

I just recently bought an 08XB12R. The only time you really notice vibration from the engine is at idle, once you start moving it is smooth not inline 4 smooth but it is barealy noticeable. 80mph puts you around 3700rpms in 6th gear, so it is a little loud but if you are cruising is isn't uncofortable, wind noise in the helmet is still louder than the exhaust, on top of the bike anyways.

at 80 is the engine screaming and vibrating?

It holds nice and steady at 80..I did some traveling on mine and held it at around 80-85 for about an hour straight and there were no issues.I Love it
