I disagree, Louise's version is much better in my opinion. I dunno, I just dislike Sinatraz voice - and i worship Armstrong's deep basso voice ;D

It has a rather unique sound (like all Armstrong songs), but when it comes to this specific song I personally prefer Frank Sinatra.

This is probably the most morbid version of the song because the musical arrangement sounds like a New Orleans jazz funeral. It's grotesque and nightmarish and beautiful all at once.

Not sure, possibly about the inferred violence but I remember reading it somewhere.As you know the BBC had a monopoly of the airwaves until the early 70's and banned a few records deemed "unsuitable".
