No, Newton had no idea about more modern technological research capabilities and discoveries either, but his theories/work stood the test of time. That is the simple truth, and Mr. Stein asserts that Darwin's did not. Your conjecture regarding Newton was misplaced and stupid.

There is money to be made peddling biblical nonsense so there are peddlars of the nonsense. Ben Stein and Kent Hovind have the same style - they talk a lot of nonsense but deliver in a matter of fact and confident style which deludes people into thinking they are correct. Both are aware that - "the truth does not matter, what you can convince people to believe matters".
