That's a very ignorant statement, sorry to say. You can OC much further than 600MHz, it's not a static number for every machine and every platform.

usin a q6600 @3.4ghz, so 1ghz increase and its running fine. the e2160 can get a 1200mhz increase just on air with no probs easily

you can do the same thing with ntune for nvidia motherboards, and if you can't get that then just go into the BIOS and do it the old way

This is precisely why i don' OC more than 600mhz, becuase beyond that and the CPU tends to run into some problems. Basically a 600mhz OC is perfectly stable vs a 800mhz OC which may cuase some issues. And a 600mhz increse on any CPU (especially a quad core) is a substatial jump in performace. |
