Man, I would love to see Dubya/Cheney/Rumsfeld in the hot seat like Bogey is. Talk about sweating and stammering!

One of my favorite films, a standout performance by all involved. Bogart actually played a number of characters like Queeg in earlier films, Treasure of Sierra Madre and Petrified Forest most obvious. Check out Conflict and The Two Mrs Carrolls as well. A final note, read about the ill fated USS Hull, one of the navy's destroyers that sank in the typhoon in december 1944. The real life basis of the fictional uss caine.

Isn't the captain of the USS Caine named Phillip Queegs.

Which episode?

Paranoia. In the trial part of the film they had to prove that the Captain suffered from paranoia & that they had no choice but to relive him of command.I'd be scared to death if I were put in the position to defend my very life from capital punishment under such conditions. Great movie from beginning to end! You gotta watch the whole thing.
