Maby the thing with the "blackfaces" is racist, but you have to think about the period of time when this song was written (the original in the 20´s). Back then it was very usual for white performers to put on black makeup when they potraited black people. Yes, it´s kind of disturbing. But in those day it was nothing weird, just look at the first soundmovie: the jazz singer with Al Jolson...Anyhow, great cover!!!

He's a German performer. As far as I know, he is still recording in Germany, although he's not hugely famous. His focus is remaking old 30s favorites, like this, in a modern style.

That was weird. First it was odd and mystical, then the piano dude came along and it got more like all happy and stuff, same beat through the whole song. I loved it. And he clearly gotta be a Jedi, with that lightsaber, use zee force, Taco!
