U r quite safe in any Muslim country until u r not going to invade them. U respect them and they 'l respect u and be cooperative.But if u have visa for isreal or entry of israel posted they won't allow u.

You would rather have no use of german there, they speak mostly english. I think there is nothing to worry for you, you'll be safe if USA don't invade any arabic country while you're there.

Uh! I envy you. I want to go to Krak des Chevaliers so much. I like the music selection you made as well. As an American do I have anything to worry about visiting Syria? I can speak German fluently so maybe that would throw any perspective retaliation.
