they are only dirty if faulty, when all is well and running 100% there should be very little smoke, they can be tuned and tweaked maybe even easier than a petrol engine and have a greater potential also, a 6.6ltr drag diesel pickup is running 7.73 over the 1/4 with no black smoke.

anything over 42 to45 psi boost on stock engine and you'll need head studs! the great thing about diesel is that with very few mods to the engine and a strong tranny you can easily achieve 500hp and enough torque to pull down the empire state building!

Diesel is not that cheap - in the UK the fuel is so much more expensive, they are dirty and generally a bit dog-aired. But otherwise in the future they may be good. Although Hydrogen is the real way forward.

Ya Diesel engines fit daily driving better. The low end power is good for stop and go traffic and it provides good passing power on the high way. Also you can blast out of corners on a road course :p |
