http://www.weforum.org 19.05.2007Defining Global Citizenship: From Philanthropy to ActivismContributing to the common good takes many forms, from individual acts of philanthropy to ongoing patterns of social activism. 1) How can individual philanthropists make the best use of their resources? What successful frameworks exist inside and outside the region?2) Do companies have a responsibility to the wider community, or should they simply contribute funds to "specialist" institutions?3) What can ordinary members of society do to become active global citizens? How can such activism be encouraged?Carly Fiorina, Chairman, Fiorina Foundation, USAFadi Ghandour, Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum on the Middle East;Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Aramex International, JordanOmar Ghobash, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Emirates Foundation, United Arab EmiratesBarbara L. They talk a lot about charity, how to save poor countries from sinking more and yet they neglect Imperialism, american imperialism in particular as a significant cause of poverty. How can a business say they want to help the poor when their main objective is to gain more capital? How can a business say we gonna build school in Iraq but first we have to destroy your country so that we can plant a new economic system that will conform to American imperialist system?

How many schools were bombed during the Iraq war? How many houses where destroyed? How many innocent children died by american forces? How poor is Iraq now as american forces continue its occupation there? This is the result of businesses trying to destroy a country so that they can get in there and exploit its resources so that a CEO in NewYork can seat in his car in a traffic jam. This is a significant cause of poverty in poorest countries.

Gzaly, you wrote a lot, but God what are you saying? Stop babbling, and talk some sense.

well queen rania is not trying to deny her culture .. but she's projecting the TRUE civility and respect of her culture and religion.. the civilization the west brags about was introduced to them by US arabs .. as well as other middle eastern civilizations.. and indeed she is thanked for her effort

in the english parts that might be a good idea yes...but also there are parts where they speak arabic and there is no english subtitles

Rania has been profoundly frustrated by arabic societal disgraceful realities that she was pushed into indirect desperate denial of her culture. She wants to make-for the West-an image of the Middle-East that does not exist. The Middle-East of Rania is a figment of imagination that the West would reject to believe, not for truth sake, but because the West wants the Middle-East to remain backwarded region inspite of all kind ingratiating initiatives and quests of the well-spoken Jordanian Queen.
