Very good tutorial it did help me a lot. Althogh Ubuntu is a lot more easy in many ways. Sabayon is very powerful and it does better hardware detection.

Great Video, I agree that it is easier in Ubuntu But Sabayon has so many packages from the start that you need much less package install. Keep up the good work!

get PclinuxOS << easiest for newbies :)... trust me and its fast. Ubuntu is fine but i would recomment PclinuxOs as im using it as we speak .. and its extremely stable.

I have to agree with wolf9111, i installed ubuntu and found it harder to use. I might add i tried ubuntu out of curiousty.Went back to Sabayonlinux 3.4f on my Toshiba Tecra M5 laptop.Even managed install Counterstrike source under Wine-Doors in 30 mins, at lower settings than my desktop but worked never the less.

im about to switch over to linux but am unsure which distro to go w/. im leaning more for ubuntu 7.10 but i just ran into sabayon. im looking for more eye candy then anything else. but most importantly i want an easy to use os for a newbie like me. w/ this video it seems sabayon is kinda tough to use. So should i stil go w/ ubuntu?? |
