I understand the benefits of wanting to shift your weight over into a turn to keep the bike upright, but what does dragging the knee gain you? Is it a positional thing, just a kind of physical interaction with the road so you feel the lean angle directly, to avoid rear tires leaving the ground and a low side?

I did proddie racing on a 250 lc years ago then a tz 250 had a handful of race wins and finished top 5 regular and i never got my knee down. even now on track days on my zx7r i still pass loads of knee down posers on bigger faster better specced bikes and i dont wear me knee out either.

if you get after market rearsets, you can adjust them higher, then your knee will stick out more.

It's just an easier way to go through corners without having to lean your bike so far over. The guy in the video even said you wouldn't do it so exaggerated on a street.

I must be a natural or something, because I was dragging my knee correctly within the first day of buying my firat liter bike...Awesome to see the old gent finally get it after it was explained to him.Also you people criticizing him for doing this on the street instead of the track. Technically, getting your knee down makes the bike turn more stable and thus more safely. So toss off, ya wanker cagers!

well it is a lot safer on track but still did u see a single car about wen he was actually going round there and he was going slow, and if you are going to call him an idiot ur a bit of a twat reli bet u cant do it... and bet uve probs not even got a bike. so get in ur box and fuck off, if its that bad then dont flamin watch it..
