i have a 1928 american lafrance type 100 at the museum i work at. and it was one of the first trucks to go to the hartford circus fire on july 6 1944

Another interesting video... I found it especially intesting as I collect diecast models and fire engines are a major part of my collection. I have many LaFrance engines in many scales and seeing one in actual 100% scale was great. It is amazing how many of the old fire trucks from the USA were open cab... Also I nearly bought a complete 1950 LaFrance which was for sale a few years ago in England, but changed my mind when I saw the actual length of it

An interesting device - I read an article from a 1970s Australian Wheels magazine about a guy that had an openbodied 1935 International firetruck which he used for a business vehicle - as a result he was always let through traffic jams and tollgates! |
