I agree with you, I had origially relopied o a comment comparing syaing somehting very simila, then i got a bit out of ahnd lol. But I agree, comparison is almost alwyas pointless, if for no ohter reason than it is very subjective. My apolgioes for taking so much space to about stuff that wssn't really pertinent. Albert King would kick my ass for me lol. Great song by a great blues player.

With all due respect, it is rather obvious you like arguing with people, man we finished that discussion a week ago. Also, where are your specifics in your argument, it seems to be a lt of opinon and not a lot of proof. Maybe you don't know SRV's work enough to give concrete examples? Look, you obviously have very stronng opions on SRV, most of which I share, but I think the key to SRV's greatness was his humility and open mind, maybe you should try and be like that too, debate is not argument

I respect your opinon, but what do yuo base it on. I based mine on talking to a large number of young players, and I will tell you this, Slash, Zakk Wylde and Angus Young are the three you hear about most, doesnl;t make them better than SRV, but they are the players who are influencing the majority of young players in my area. I agree he SHOULD be the most influential, SRV was I think was one of the if not the greatest blues player of all time alongside Robert Johnson.

Slash and Zakk never really influenced anybody. People influenced them but they are both overrated anyway and they are not that important for ther impact part at all!SRV is by far the most influential, most important and best guitar player of the last 25 years. He was the lead icon and master of guitar in the 1980's.He is the second person in Guitar history to win 3 Best Guitar Player awards in one year and he is the first white person to win the W.C Handy National Blues Award.

It is obvious you really never heard of SRV enough and it is obvious that you know very little about him, or almost nothing (judging by your comments). SRV's main genre and choice of playing was blues, but he could play so many more styles. He is definetely one of the most versatile guitar players ever. He could play many styles of blues, he could play rock, pop, jazz, funk, soul, country, swing, boogie...He is the best, most importand and most influential guitar player of the last 25 years.

There is NO ONE I like better than Albert King (apart from Jimi)!!His tone and his timing and his ear are all............ beyond words!

That is not a bit closed minded don't you think? Those guys donl;t play blues, they play mainly metal, and in metal technical proficiency is more highly vl;aued than the ability to emote, whereas blues ios the opposite. It takes years to be a good blues player. and years to be a shredder, both require a huge amunt of time and dedication. I may not enjoy their music, but i respect their playing abilties, just cause they are a different genre than you like doesn't mean they suck.

Also, beung mainly a blues player is not an insult, being able to play the blueas oprperly is very difficult, and to say someone can really play the blues is to my mind a huge complement, and SRV definitley could play them. So maybe instead of accusing me of knwoing nothing and being a retard, we could just have a REASONED disccusion wihtout reostring to personal insults? Aren't we a bit beyond that? Btw just out of curiosity, do you actaully play guitar?
