I just read up on it and apparantly it was filmed as a joke after a real taping of Managers Corner. Weaver and the host thought it would be funny to put this together. It never made it to the real air but was held onto by the engineers/producer and that is why we have it here.

He was a very good pinch hitter. I'm sure Earl appeciated him. Earl spoke that way a a lot about people in general, but he meant no offense.

Earl is 100% right where the guy really IS lucky if he's in fuckin' baseball, in any role, for anyone. He's getting paid to sit on his fuckin' ass for 9 innings, enjoying watching a baseball game like any other fan. Most other fans have to pay to watch, while he gets PAID to watch with the BEST seats in the house, not to mention all the other benefits of being with a big league ball club! That really IS lucky!
