So mellow and relaxing

please do your research before you attempt to correct me.. it's just a tortoise shell pick guard. they can be easily changed. John took the SRV pick guard off and put that on to avoid comparison. at 4:15 in the video you can clearly see that the tremolo is left-handed and has gold hardware. john's signature strat has a standard tremolo with silver hardware, and you can clearly see SRV's signature on the headstock at many points in the video.

no no no ..... SRV's sig has SRV ingraved in the sratch guard .... that is clearly the john mayer signature

i own both of them and i guess i can understand how the untrained eye can mistake them for one another, but the only resemblance is the 3 tone sunburst. the headstock, the tremolo, the hardware color, the fingerboard, and the machine heads are visually all different.

Its a common mistake. Johns strat is strikingly similar to SRV strat
Beshimi (September 2, 2008 at 8:14 am)
you are wrong, actually.. that is definitely his SRV strat. the tremolo is left-handed and you can clearly see SRV's signature on the headstock at many different points in the video.
