When saying a bow is 100kg heavy, that means pulling it up would be like pulling a 100kg weight.

where could you get one of those
ProOwnage (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
wouldn't it depend upon where the archers arrow flew??
FearAndRage (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
Not really, some archers can take out mounted soldiers in one. Depends on the marksman.
perfectrsamurai (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
aye, but firing against a mounted knight an archer can fire as many arrows as he wants hes gunna get nowhere. one bolt will take the knight clean out.
FearAndRage (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
Lol, by that time an archer would have a few hundred arrows through you. I love the the bow/crossbow rivalry, even though they're two different skills, wouldn't mind one of these though.

That was the disadvantage of the heavy crossbow, its slow reloading rate..but it went through any kind of armor like butter. See it as the anti-tank missile of its time. The knights were not amused that any mediocre marksman could shoot them off the hors with one of these.
