It's a peripheral ported NA rotary engine. Some PP's can rev pretty high, but typically they redline around 12000rpm. A PP sounds different from the production side-port rotary, but IMO all rotaries tend to sound like F1's ;).

yea it was a huge bummer.....but its pretty sad that the piston punks were so scared that it won that they had to ban in.....imagine with all the advancements we have in the rotary engine what kind of numbers a 26b could be putting down, and what kind of records it would set

well, you can't really buy this one.. but mazda is currently creating other concepts based on the same design philosophy - Nagare - that have a similar design and as they say, could be for sale in 2020.. good luck |
