Thought about modding one of the Thinkgeek bluetooth 'classic' Ma Bell handsets? Obviously something based on a still-older design would look much more fitting, but I don't know of any companies that put out something pre-rolled along those lines.

Yes, the battery was discarded for recycling.The Joule Thief circuit pulls additional energy from these "dead" batteries.
