How is cross picking different than alternate picking? And isnt the double down up just a two string sweep??

He has a string bender on the B string tuning machine. "People think that I'm trying to hide something. When I first started using the bender I did not have that leather cover. I was in the studio on day playing the bender and when I pressed the pedal to bend the string the adjustment screw flew off and hit a woman in the forehead. Since them I keep the leather cover over the device so that if that screw comes loose again it won't take someone's eye out who is sitting in the front row."
