Thompson's version is obviously good, but i always thought the song sang with a bit of a brogue would be be better, Christy achieves that.

one of my favourite songs ever. seen christy moore on tuesday and he was unbelievable, he has left his unique mark on this song. fair play! i love it

While I love Christy Moore's voice, this version is too bouncy for my taste. The beat just isn't right. It seems to lose that haunting quality that comes through beautifully with Richard Thompson's way of singing it.
