The chain amount is 30 for this practice swatch. I have a picture symbol diagram on my crochet blog. The link is located to the right of the video. The image will help you see the stitch placement in the chain.

For this example, how many chains do I need to start with to complete this session? I thought maybe 30 at first, but I ran out of chain. Also there seems to be a little burp in the video when you are explaning the first double crochet decrease.

can this crochet be done in a spiral to make a beanie that has a design in it?

You are welcome. :)

Thank you so much for this video! I've been looking everywhere for instructions on how to do the ripple, and you've made it so easy!

Oh I see. I go there and check it out. :)

I didn't complete an afghan with this demonstration, just a swatch. My crochet blog does have another variation of a ripple that I did many years ago.

How does a finished afghan look like?

Yes it does! I have done 3 rows with 3 colors and I love it!

There are a lot of variations to the ripple stitch. It is a pattern stitch that can be very confusing. Hopefully it makes sense now? |
