Yup, your correct. I made an error in saying both shows were. It was only Extras that was part improv. I would still think my point stands even if one show wasn't improv considering he co-wrote most of the scripts.

No it wasn't. Watch the Documentary were Ricky goes to meet Larry David and he says all of the Office was scripted and none of it was improvised. zasterguava is right.

This is absolutely amazing. Ricky Gervais is just hilarious. And I don't know how Steve Carell could keep a straight face that whole time. Those two just amaze me.I also love seeing John Stewart and Stephen Colbert chuckling in the audience.

Yes, the general plot... did you ever watch the office dvd special features ? If you did, you will see how much of it is actually changed and adapted and how ricky say's different things each tape...

Watch rickys interview with Larry David. He clearly states that The Office is vastly different to Curb Your Enthusiasm because its so meticulously scripted where as Curb has a loose plotline.
