Jaco Pastorius' remarks for bassplaying goes all beyond what anyone had made before. He created new phrases and new lines as the true master he was. Bassplaying after his entrance to the scene of music are simply not the same anymore.

at 2:05 i think it would be rather more effective if he made the drive a little more powerfull, or even if he used an overdrive instead, to shock the croud and make the walls rumble :)

Caught Weather Report in Davis Ca circa the 8:30 album wherein Jaco opened with the theme to "The High and the Mighty" and then into Hendrix inspired "Third Stone from the Sun" with Joe Zawinul providing keyboard overlays -- that quartet was the best of its era!
