Thanks for the advice but no thanks and you probably have misread my comment. I want to get to a great college one of the IV league schools. It would be much easier for me to get in because of this thing so called "legacy". Which means if I have the same amount of scores as one person I will be picked over them.

You aren't required to do anything, simply because your brother has taken a certain path does not mean you have to follow in his footsteps, in fact, thinking in such a way will only deny you admissions. You have to be unique and you have to find your own path.

Good luck getting in--this past year, the acceptance rate was 9% and will probably drop lower this year.

Just adding to what zaksti said: Stanford's financial aid policy is very, very generous, meaning that students end up paying very little. Roughly 80% of Stanford's students receive financial aid. For families making up to $100k/year, tuition (~$36k) is free, effectively making Stanford cheaper than most public schools (including Berkeley, UCLA, etc.). <$45k = full scholarship, <$60k = free tuition & room/board, and <$150k = significantly reduced tuition.
