I have a pair of cousins who are fraternal twins. Their names are Tom and Tommy, and I've told them before that they're both just contractions of the same name but they don't seem to mind. I know two other Chinese people whose English names are Green and Kobe, but "Smacker" and "Samanfar" is pretty good too. My sister's friend's conversation partners in China gave herself "最好的明智": "Smile." I think you're onto something! Great work, and have fun in China!
