30 years ago, my grandmother would walk me to and from kindergarten. if we timed it right, we could watch the train go by - 50, maybe 65 cars. it was a treat to get 100 or 120. as i got older we would compare numbers to see if i counted right. good times. great memories. to this day, i still count cars.

If you listen close you will hear a computer voice say "CSX equipment defect detector.....". These are devices along the trackside that monitor the condition of the train and broadcast a message back to the crew.
