if you have an american, spanish, or mid bb on your bike you should be able to pull the bearings out and cut the spacer that goes inbetween the two bearings in the bb about 2 or 3mm shorter than it is currently. when you put everything back together and tighten the cranks back down, more side load will be put on the bearings making them spin less freely. i still have my chain damn tight but my cranks don't move unless i want them to. if you have a euro bb it wont work. the bearings are too small

to keep cranks still and chain tight lossen tire pull it all the way back and tighten it, hard to explain in words but if understand itll be ez

yeah, you can buy all the parts seperate, or there are complete bikes available with out brakes in stores!
