Pippen great all around player. He is one of the greatest ever and definitely one of the best defenders of all time.

When everything is said and done and everybody has put out their opinion I think we all can agree that Pippen is the Truth

I agree with what you are saying, but in the end my point was, he is a tad* slower. I do not think lower of him. Since he is the second part of the triangle offense. And damn straight he posterize most NBA players (regardless of position) and with authority.

That's why I laugh when people try and compare Odom to Pippen. That's without the casual fact that Pippen is/was just a much better player, but then it's about explosiveness. When Odom gets to the rim he just tries to use his length and throw a weak layup at the rim. Pippen long as fuck as he was would still go in there with bad intentions not just trying to use his length to throw up some layup, but explode to the rim and throw it down in your face.

Not to mention Pippen also had a lot more power in his finishes then those other guys you are comparing too. He shit on every big man there was in the 90s. Neither Kobe, Jordan, Tmac could throw down a dunk with the power Pippen could.

Jordan was also a sg and Pippen is a sf...sg's are quicker then sf's...you don't say? PG's too? lol.

Scottie Pippen is a bit slow, he has long strides and long arms. But, what I meant is, his lack of speed is made up by his techniques and offensive prowess. But by slower than I imagined him to be does not mean he's one of the slower players. He's a quick cat, but comparatively speaking with MJ, or other big names. I enjoy watching him play. But I really enjoy him running the floor with MJ and the third wheel. Good times.

Honestly, Pippen was really never in the right offensive scheme during his prime. The triangle offense was a much more of a half court offense. Look at the Bulls pace throughout the years and they were always in the late teens to 20s...Pippen offensively was best in the transition, he really belonged in an up tempo run and gun offense. He was a one man fast break really because of the fact that he could handle the ball like a pg but finish as good as anyone out there.

slower? That's probably you thinking he was smaller then he was. Pippen weighed around 225lbs from 1993 and on. He wasn't this nimble little guy jordan or kobe. He was incrediblye quick for his body...and his length is just insane. People talk about length of like a Tayshuan Prince or Tracy Mcgrady (as he was compared to in his career) they are around the same size but their wingspan is 7'2" while Pippen's is 7'4"...and he's about 6-5.5 without shoes...to have a wingspan like that is insane. |
