Made a similar recipe with grilled chicken and smoked beacon for my meats and it was good.-Keep the vids commin' guys

hey eppyk, sounds like the quarry tiles will work. Commercial Pizza stones don't work as they are thin and brittle and cannot take the direct fire. Let us know how it goes. -BBQ Pit Boys

Thanks for the idea. It looks great. What is your opinion on using fire clay quarry tiles instead of bricks? I used to use them as pizza stones in my home oven and they worked pretty well. They even stood up to the heat of a self cleaning cycle

hey Twostones69, a good layer of charcoal below the bricks will give you the high temperatures you need for this pizza recipe. -BBQ Pit Boys

Do you place the charcoal directly below the bricks? Do you use the charcoal holders or just pile the charcoal up in a pile?

hey marien60, yes, but go with what bricks you can get. The holes allow more direct heat to get at the crust. The final result holes vs solid will be the same. -BBQ Pit Boys |
