And lest you think I have some problem with casualties in war, I don't. Canadian RCAF bombed German cities to decrease their ability to manufacture war supplies during World War 2 and some Canadian museums actually paint veterans as war criminals for having caused civilian death. I find that ridiculous in its historical context. But I don't compare that to how many innocents died when Japan invaded the rest of Asia and conclude "At least the Canadian government recognizes civilian casualties".

If we're going to get into a pissing match over education, I don't claim infallibility from faulty memory of what I've seen in history texts and documentaries because I have a masters of science in mechanical engineering, not history. I want you to provide me with an actual defense over my objection of you comparing death tolls. I would have had no qualms if you've said that the Germans didn't whitewash their textbooks and honoring war criminals like the Japanese and left the death tolls out.

When challenged on the moral grounds of using these numbers you don't support yourself with any other ideas but instead fire off tired rhetoric assuming intellectual authority. I wasn't defending the Japanese on their policies of removing Nangking and other atrocities off of their textbooks and honoring the perpetrators of such crimes. I'm pointing out how absurd it is for you to use death tolls as political pawns in your imaginary pissing contest to see who committed more. That is despicable to the highest degree and you should be ashamed.

Emotional? Good one. I'm Chinese and my grandfather fought in the Chinese Civil war on the side of the KMT. I have no illusions about the Japanese nor am I unaware of their past atrocities. My family experienced them. Compared to that, your namecalling is like childsplay.
