The Lufthansa jet, with 137 passengers onboard, struggled through the strong winds of a powerful winter storm to land at Hamburg Airport, Spiegel Online reported. After skidding along the runway and rocking violently, the pilot was forced to abort the landing. Later, all 137 passengers arrived safely.

the crosswind is so strong you can see the nearby plant moving. if i were the pilot i would have triggered the engine to go into reverse when it landed (and that would probably kill everyone) summarizing it, he's damn good and the plane recovered through pure reflex as though its part of his body. respect!!

I would die if I sat in that plane. I'm already scared of flying, so.

There may have not been another runway available, not enough fuel to make an alt airport, you have to land sooner or later.

well as a pilot,i will never try 2 land in that condition unless emergency situation exist, such uel starvatin and,the Avianca that crashed in new york went around w/out fuel, if i was the Fo i would over ride the Captain desion 2 go ard!

No, its really not. I've heard a pilot's opinion on this video, and he pointed out that no good pilot would attempt a landing under such terrible conditions unless fuel starvation was imminent. The plane apparently had enough fuel to make a few more passes, so one has to question the pilot's judgement.
