Muy buen amplificador ese Crate. Es a transis pero no es para nada chillón y tiene buen cuerpo, suena muy bien!

Yes, it would work fine, you´ll just need a "return" input in your amp. It has two balanced stereo outputs. It has lot´s of parameteres, and Eq´s. I am using this unit to play metal, and rock, and works great in both styles. I´ll upload some metal sounds soon...

ok thx...also does it have good distortion (metal) tones? and what kind of output could i use with it? i have a vox valvetronix xl 30 watt amp and a 4x12 hiwatt cab..would it work with one of those?

It´s discontinued, but you can find them on Ebay por 400$ with it´s own pedal board. It´s a very good procesor, very easy to use and it has two tubes!!

where can you buy one of these preamps..do they still make them?

I recomend you to use a 15 band eq (2-4-4). on every distortion preset. Your final sound would also depend on your guitar and your pickups. I have an Ibanez RG3120 (Dimarzio Paf Pro & Tonezone), I use this settings:Turn off distortion, use only Tube Dist at 50% gain, and a good compresor.1st Eq: Level 100%, phase in, 10,7,2,-4,-5,-4,3,0,-2,-4.15 Band Eq: Level 100%, phase in, 8,6,4,2,0,-5,-1,-3,1,-1,1,4,3,4,6.A light Delay and Reverb, and a CAB Emulator in Type: 5 or 4 and Post Digital.

Hm.. Thanks. By the way, I got another problem. The presets simlpy... suck! And I'm tweaking on them but still I cannot get any decent distortions. Especially when I play via my mixer...

Yes, everything is manually set. I recommend you to compare every effect to only one that you most use. Clean effects need a little more volume than distorted ones.
bl07aug (August 31, 2008 at 12:24 pm)
how do you keep all the effects in the same volume? did you adjust all the volumes manually to be at the same level??

I own two of them and I find their overdrives and distortions the best in the business. I also own a 2101 with the artist upgrade and feel the same way about it.
