WINTER STARTS VERY EARLY IN THE USA."As much as 3 feet (of snow) is forecast in the Tetons in northwestern Wyoming. Billings, Mont."This sort of snow storm usually happens beginning at the end of November. This winter expected to be harsh, maybe even worse than last year. This is one more example showing that Al Gore is wrong.

I won't waste time reviewing the evidence we're warming the planet to a potentially damaging extent, because that's already settled in the science literature. A small point, though - the mercury hazard from fluorescent lights is trivial compared with mercury exposure from coal burning, which releases much larger quantities into the atmosphere in an uncontrolled fashion. Switching from incandescent to fluorescent reduces mercury exposure, because coal burning is an important electricity source.

No worries, blame it on climate change.Dave.

Yeh,the worlds economies are crashing,Iceland has gone bust, pension funds are crumbling, big job cuts are coming, national governance is crumbling, most of the worlds economies are in,or entering recession, banks are being nationalised, the supply and demand economy is in turmoil, other than that everything is fine.

Yeh right, and the trillions of taxpayer dollars/pounds/euros/etc now being wasted on global economic greed is an illusion.Get real

Agreed, So2/So3 & the concomitant acid rain is pollution, so is mercury in our tuna, so for that matter is mercury vapour in our energy efficient light bulbs!PLANT FOOD is NOT POLLUTION!Dave.

actually nosome 30,000 are sueing Al Gore. the info in this video has been dismissed by scientists represented by the UN. Keep in mind that 30,000 is the majority, not the minoritythe point in all this is to stop wasteful spending. everyone wants to be eco-friendly but doesn't want to waste BILLIONS of dollars/euros/pounds/etc on stupid gimicks that would stop the worlds temp by fragments of a degree

And I always thought it unlikely that AGW would gain any status!Google online wsj switzerland plant's rights to find an even MORE unbelievable plot.Go to editors picks!Dave.

"The only answer is to restore the rainforests and let them do their global job". Mallardhead, it's one answer but not the only one. Deforestation accounts for about 20% of the increase in atmospheric CO2 we've bestowed on the climate, with the rest due mainly to fossil fuel consumption, and a smaller amount to cement manufacture, and so all sources must be addressed. This includes conservation, carbon capture, and alternative energy sources, but also international reforestation efforts.

CO2 is and will continue to be a global warming problem until the world works to restore the rainforests. Up to 65% are lost to cut and burn policies. These forests recycle CO2 at the surface. If lost NO CO2 will be processed so no green tech will stop the problem. The only answer is to restore the rainforests and let them do their global job. |
